It's Independence Day for the Legion! We hook up a MacBook to the alien spaceship and look at The Legion #30 & 31

The Legion #30 First of all, last week's column has the largest readership since I moved over to Blogspot, so thanks to everyone for reading... it's always good to know that I'm not just screaming into a void, so to speak. Second of all, I just wanted to put this warning before we start. If you really liked the Foundations story and don't want my rant to ruin any of your memories of this being a good book, please stop reading now. You won't be happy. Trust me... just scroll down now... Still with me? Okay... We've reached the final chapter of the Foundations saga. Young Darkseid has killed old Darkseid on Apokolips and is about to kill the Legion. Time and space are being destroyed by a chronal shockwave caused by pulling young Darkseid out of his timeline (don't worry about what that means for any future stories, like that Darkseid can never time travel). But the villains have sucked an insane amount of Dark Matter out of the universe to build, with a Boo...

It's Darkseid versus Darkseid as the most convoluted Legion plot ever continues... We look at The Legion #28 & 29

The Legion #28 First of all, I wanted to say this: Last week, the majority of my readers came from these three countries: Singapore, the USA, and Hong Kong. So either everyone's using VPNs and Singapore and Hong Kong are the two best places to claim to be from... or there are far more Legion fans in Asia than I thought. If the first is true, glad to know we have some smart people protecting their computers. If the latter is true, I love the fact that the Legion has a wide fan base and it's awesome to see you here. Long Live the Legion! Now let's get back into the story... The Servants of Darkness are sucking the Dark Matter out of the universe with the hundreds of thousands of deserted stargates. Kid Quantum is either hallucinating or flashing back in time. Superboy is in the 31st Century and Cosmic Boy is staggeringly disappointed in him. And Darkseid is coming back. Our creative team this issue: Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning (DnA) writing this, Chris Batista pencilling,...

More Darkseid! More Legion histories! And the writers get tired or bored... we look at The Legion Secret Files 3003 & The Legion #27

The Legion Secret Files 3003 Before we get into the issue, I wanted to share some sales numbers: The Legion #26 -  26,589 The Legion Secret Files 3003 - 19,198 The Legion #27 - 25,622 Why did more than 7,000 fans decide not to buy Secret Files? Did they know something I don't? Oh well, for the second week in a row, we have a big issue to go through, so let's get started... DC is really milking Legion fans for all they can get. Your creator credits: Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning (DnA) writing. Leonard Kirk, Tony Harris, and Tom Feister on pencils. Robin Riggs, Harris, and Feister on inks. A boom tube opens and Orion, Barda, and Firestorm emerge. And fly... somewhere. Yep, that's the first two pages. We join Trudy Trusoe, host of "The Earth Spins," which I'm guessing is a news show on... something... She's going to get a guided tour of Legion World so Shikari shows up to take her through a threshold. We get tons of background information on Shikari as she ar...
